4.7 Quake and whose Fault was it?

A few weeks ago at 5:30 am , was slightly awake when I heard the bedside lampshade rattle and felt a couple of nudges against the bed. It was an earthquake centered 45 minutes northeast of me. The star on the map indicates the epicenter and the colors indicate intensity (3 by the time it reached me) . So this weekend I set out in search of San Andreas.

You cant drive in any direction without seeing miles and miles of vegetables.
Here, ...miles and miles of.......something green.

This one I know...Strawberries, being irrigated . Its hot today.

Destination: Pinnacles National Monument, west edge of the San Andreas Fault

Entrance to the park....Park Ranger warned of rattlesnakes and 103 degree (40 celcius)

Me on the path leading into the park.

These formations are whats left of parts of a volcano rim. The rest of the volcano is 195 miles south. So in 2 million years, this formation has moved 195 miles north riding on the Pacific Plate while the rest of the volcano was left behind on the North American Plate.
In real time , the ground moves as fast as your finger nails growing.

The trails wind their way around all the rock formations.

Eventually to the north, the terrain returns to rolling hills.
